Jing Yuan Charity Foundation Hosts Its First Charity Gala
All Proceeds to Support Dental Care for Grassroots Groups

(Hong Kong, 25 May, 2024) The Jing Yuan Charity Foundation (JYCF; the Foundation) held its first charity gala at the Rosewood Hong Kong on 24 May 2024. Over 600 policymakers, business leaders and celebrities gathered to support and raise funds for the charitable dental care projects. All proceeds will go towards supporting charitable dental care projects in society, with no administrative expenses deducted.

The Charity Gala was graced by the guest of honour, the Honourable Chan Kwok-ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Professor the Honourable Lo Chung-mau, BBS, JP, Secretary for Health of the Government of the HKSAR and his spouse Mrs Amy Lo, Dr the Honourable Ko Wing-man, GBS, JP, Membership of Executive Council of the HKSAR, and the Honourable Starry Lee Wai-king, GBS, JP, Member of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR, graced the occasion with their esteemed presence.

The Honourable Chan Kwok-ki expressed in his speech that the philanthropic initiatives of the Jing Yuan Charity Foundation were well-aligned with the government’s dental healthcare policy, sharing the goals of improving the oral health of the grassroots community. He appreciated the Foundation for its efforts and contributions to improve People’s livelihood. Mr Chan stressed that the Hong Kong Government will continue to work closely with the Foundation to advance more charitable causes and build a more caring and supportive Hong Kong as a better home for all, bringing a greater sense of achievement and happiness to the grassroots groups.

Mr Patrick Tsang On-yip, BBS, Chairman of The Jing Yuan Charity Foundation, saying the focus of the Charity Gala is related to oral health care. All the funds raised through the gala will be 100% dedicated to supporting the charitable dental care projects in our society. Our foundation will sponsor and collaborate with various non-governmental organisations to implement dental health care projects and oral health education programs for the grassroots community.

During the event, a live auction and silent auction were held for a good cause. The live auction was conducted by Ms Danielle So, auctioneer of Phillips Auctioneers, with nearly 40 items sold. Dr Lee Shing Chak, renowned feng shui master, Mr Lam Yat-yan, Hong Kong’s leading tutor, and Ms Louisa Mak Ming-sze, appeared as guest speakers in the event to encourage guests to bid generously to make more donations towards the charitable initiatives on dental care projects.

In addition, the event featured performances by The Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Orchestra’s string quartet, a stage play by students from the Po Leung Kuk Yip Ng Bun Bun Kindergarten, and singing performances by Mr Alex Lam Tak-shun, Ms Stephanie Cheng Yung, Ms Kandy Wong and Ms Si Si Chang, bringing a joyful atmosphere to the evening.

The charity gala is one of the most notable events of the Jing Yuan Charity Foundation. Through various program segments of the event, including a video introduction to JYCF’s charitable initiatives, beneficiary sharing of The SMILE Project, guest speakers sharing, and a charity auction, guests and donors gained a deeper understanding of the Foundation’s philanthropic work and contributed to this meaningful fundraising event. Every penny raised, without deducting any administrative costs, will go towards supporting underprivileged groups in need of dental care services. The goal is to address the growing need of dental care services in the community, and most importantly, alleviate the hardships and suffering of patients facing emergency dental issues.
